While thinking about places to spend spring break with our families, Gulf Shores, Alabama, immediately came to mind. The family friendly atmosphere and beautiful beach made it an easy decision! Read below as we share our favorite activities and spots to dine.
Because of the size of our group (4 adults, 8 kids) we decided that renting a home with two separate living spaces and a private pool was the best choice for us. We were conveniently located about 2 blocks from the beach. We brought wagons to tow our beach items, which we would highly recommend! You can see a full list of our favorite beach vacation items here.
Between spending time at the beach and pool we also went out and explored. We visited Alligator Alley, went on a Dolphin Cruise, and explored Fort Morgan.
We can’t leave out where we ate! There were three places that we chose to have dinner at and all were absolutely perfect for kids and large groups!
The Hangout is a must visit! Every day they host games and contests for the whole family to enjoy, from playing in the sand pit to joining in on free pick-up games of ping-pong, foosball, four square and other activities outside in the courtyard. There’s typically live music going on also AND don’t miss the foam party fun!!
Lulu’s Fun Food and Music was also a huge hit for our families! There was a huge sand pit for the kids to play in, activities going on and music to listen to. I would highly recommend the chicken tacos!
Our finally stop was The Gulf, located nearby in Orange Beach. Great food, drinks and atmosphere right on the water. Definitely a must visit!
We couldn’t leave without trying the local seafood! We visited Fresh Market Seafood (such friendly people!!) and scored some shrimp, flounder and red snapper. We cooked it up back at our rental and it was amazing!
Steph and I would both agree that Gulf Shores was an absolute hit with our families and we definitely can’t wait to visit again.
